What it does
Day-1 onboarding is the easy part — it’s day 14 when nothing’s been logged in for a week and nobody noticed. This recipe runs a check-in pass on accounts at days 7, 14, and 30, sends activation-aware emails from the CSM, and escalates the day-30 accounts that didn’t make it.
How it works
- Find the cohort. The colleague filters to accounts hitting day 7, 14, or 30.
- Read activation. It pulls each account’s activation properties and last 30-day event history, computing a 0-100 score.
- Send the check-in. A personalized email is sent from the assigned CSM’s Gmail, referencing the specific activation gaps and 2-3 next-step suggestions.
- Escalate at day 30. Day-30 accounts still below the activation threshold get a save-play task created on the CSM and a tag of onboarding-at-risk.
Setup
- Connect a CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or Attio) and define the activation properties.
- Connect a support tool (Zendesk, Intercom, Help Scout, or Front).
- Connect Gmail or Outlook for the CSM’s outbound email.
- Set the activation threshold per milestone (default 30 / 60 / 80).
Variations
- Add an in-app message channel for accounts who don’t open email.
- Spin up a weekly digest of all check-ins sent + activation rates by cohort.
- Add a celebrate-the-wins lane that DMs the CSM for accounts crossing thresholds early.
