What it does

Most content calendars end up funnel-imbalanced because nobody actually counted last quarter. This recipe reads what shipped, pulls per-theme efficiency from analytics, then plans a 4-week calendar that balances ToFu / MoFu / BoFu and leans into themes that converted.

How it works

  1. Read history. Every piece published in the last quarter is pulled and tagged with funnel stage / theme / channel. Actual mix is compared to the planned mix.
  2. Pull performance. Traffic and conversion per theme are pulled from analytics. Top and bottom themes get surfaced.
  3. Build calendar. A 4-week × 4-slot calendar is composed with balanced funnel mix, themes leaning to top performers, and one experimental slot per week.

Setup

  • Connect a docs destination (Notion or Google Docs) for the calendar.
  • Connect a spreadsheet destination (Google Sheets or Excel) for the mix compute.
  • Connect an analytics tool (GA4 or Mixpanel) for theme performance.

Variations

  • Run quarterly instead of monthly for higher-level planning.
  • Add a per-author rotation so individual workload stays even.
  • Auto-generate hooks/headlines for the top 3 priority slots.
