What it does

By the time someone in marketing notices the competitor changed their pricing page, they’ve already been outflanked for two months. This recipe watches a small competitor list and writes a digest of what shifted — pricing, messaging, product launches — with deep links to the source.

How it works

  1. Crawl the watchlist. The colleague reads the competitor watchlist and crawls pricing, blog, changelog, and key feature pages.
  2. Diff and tag. Each snapshot is diffed against last week’s saved version. Diffs are tagged — pricing, messaging, feature, removal — and scored for significance.
  3. Compose the digest. A Notion doc lands with a 5-bullet “what shifted this week” summary plus per-competitor sections.
  4. Post to channels. A link drops in #marketing-perf and #product-leadership with the headline shifts; the PMM lead is tagged on any high-significance change.

Setup

  • Maintain a competitor watchlist in Notion (5-12 names + URLs).
  • Connect a messaging channel (Slack or Teams).
  • Optional — connect Linear / Jira so competitive-response tickets cross-link.

Variations

  • Add a daily fast-lane that flags only detected pricing-page changes.
  • Watch competitor LinkedIn for hiring signals — title patterns hint at upcoming product moves.
  • Generate a quarterly rollup that compares all weekly digests into a positioning shift narrative.
